WHITE SULPHER SPRINGS, WV (WOWK) — The family of Gov. Jim Justice announced in a release Tuesday that the auctioning of The Greenbrier Resort has been canceled after the family managed to satisfy their obligations to Beltway Capital.

This comes amidst issues between Beltway Capital and the Justice family, where the family was said to have fallen back on required settlement payments to Beltway.

The release said all of the family’s debts to Beltway have been paid in full, and as a result, The Greenbrier Resort auction that was scheduled for later this month has been cancelled.

“We are excited to have successfully paid in full our obligations to Beltway Capital and look forward to the future of The Greenbrier and Glade Springs,” said Dr. Jill Justice and Jay Justice. “This will allow us to invest further in our operations and enhance the experiences we provide to our guests. We appreciate the continued support from our partners, the patience of our valued team members, for whom we know this was a stressful period, and we look forward to welcoming visitors for many years to come.”

According to The Greenbrier’s website, Gov. Justice bought the resort in 2009 from CSX Corporation.

I'm glad that Jim Justice and his family paid the debt but they should have just paid it to begin with and not had to deal with all this drama it's ridiculous.
