KENTUCKY (WOWK) – There are now fewer options for drug recovery in the Bluegrass state as one company shuts down some of its facilities.

The organization Addiction Recovery Care (ARC) announced it will be temporarily closing four of its Kentucky facilities, and one of those is in our region. According to the company, the Sanibel House in Catlettsburg is on the closure list.

The other three facilities are Lake Hills Oasis in Somerset, Beth’s Blessing in Tyner and Belle Grove Springs in Wallingford.

ARC says the closures are due to impending and significant cuts to Medicaid reimbursements affecting addiction and mental health services.

News of these temporary closures come as the organization is under investigation by the FBI for alleged healthcare fraud. Earlier this year, the FBI asked the public for information on the case.

ARC representatives WOWK 13 News spoke with on Wednesday could not confirm or deny if the closures had any relation to the investigation.
