WV Strong group collecting supplies for hurricane victims

POINT PLEASANT, WV (WOWK) – As hundreds of thousands of people are still trying to pick up the pieces from Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton, another West Virginia-based group is working to lend a helping hand.

West Virginia Strong – Hurricane Relief says they hope to pack up a 48-foot trailer with donations and take it to Tennessee and North Carolina.

They’re accepting items such as water, toiletries, cleaning supplies, blankets and sleeping bags. The organization also asks that people donating remember that the colder weather has arrived, so donations of cold-weather survival gear are also greatly appreciated.

Crews will be at the Piggly Wiggly in Point Pleasant between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. from now until the end of next week.
