PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Specific cans of CVS brand baby formula have been recalled after they were found to contain too much Vitamin D, according to the R.I. Department of Health.

The cans of Premium Infant Formula with Iron Milk-Based Powder were produced by the Perrigo Company and sold at CVS stores statewide. They were also shipped to other states including New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

The affected products have UPC 050428318034 and a use-by date of Nov. 11, 2025.

A spokesperson for the Health Department told 12 News the recalled formula should not be consumed. Short-term consumption of these products likely won’t affect most babies, however, it could lead to complications for those with certain health conditions.

Consumers are advised to check their pantries for these products. Anyone who purchased the recalled cans should contact the place of purchase to ask about returns and call their doctor about any health concerns.
