Providence PD hosts National Night Out on Thursday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — The Providence Police Department is hosting its National Night Out event at the Temple to Music in Roger Williams Park from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday.

The family-friendly event aims to create positive relationships between police and the community.

Police stations across the country held National Night Out events last week, but a number of local departments had to postpone their events due to inclement weather.

Mayor Brett Smiley, Police Chief Oscar Perez, and other city leaders will be in attendance.
