Storms bring downpours, flooding, hail to RI, Mass.

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — A line of storms moved through Southern New England on Thursday, bringing downpours, strong wind gusts, and even small hail.

The Severe Thunderstorm and Flash Flood warnings that were in effect have since expired.

A large tree branch came down across Charles Street in Providence, backing up traffic .

There are also reports of weather-related crashes in the Taunton area.

About 3,200 National Grid customers are without power in Massachusetts, but only about 250 of them are in Bristol County.

Power outage numbers for Rhode Island are currently unavailable since Rhode Island Energy has started the process of switching over to its new website .
