Suspect arrested in New Bedford murder

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WPRI) — A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a deadly shooting in New Bedford .

Anthony Jalo was taken into custody Friday morning on a murder charge, according to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.

Jalo is accused of shooting 44-year-old Aaron Britto on Aug. 4.

Police were called to Earle Street around 1:30 a.m. for a report of gunshots. Britto was found suffering from multiple injuries and taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Jalo was ordered held without bail on Friday.
