Police seize handgun in New Bedford arrest

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WPRI) — A 21-year-old has been arrested on several firearms charges, according to New Bedford police.

The investigation brought officers to a home on North Front Street where they found a revolver, more than 50 rounds of ammo, and two high-capacity magazines.

Police say Andres Cosme-Mateo didn’t have a license to carry.

He was charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition without a license, two counts of possession of a large-capacity feeding device and improper storage of a gun.
