Backpack, school supply giveaway held in several communities

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — A backpack and school supply giveaway was held in several communities on Saturday.

Cities and towns that participated in the “Back to School Celebration” included Providence, Central Falls, Newport, Pawtucket, Woonsocket, Cumberland and West Warwick.

There were also resource tables available with financial assistance, education and health related information.

The WPRI 12 Back to School Supply Drive is underway.

You can bring school supplies to any Cardi’s Furniture and Mattresses location through Sept. 6, or you can also make a monetary donation at the stores.
