WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) — Bishop Hendricken has dominated high school football in Rhode Island for over a decade. The Hawks have won 12 state championships since 2010. After winning the Super Bowl last year, they’re poised to repeat.

Every season brings new challenges and there’s none bigger for Hendricken than opening on the road Saturday at Monsignor Farrell (N.Y.).

“Every season is a huge challenge. At this point, we’re turning the page from the preseason. We’re focusing on Monsignor Farrell next week down to Staten Island, which will be a huge game for us. We haven’t beaten them, and I think three years we played them, so it’s a huge challenge for us, and it’s a league game this year, so it’s a little different. So it counts on our record right off the bat,” said head coach Keith Croft.

“It’s a brotherhood,” said linebacker Lincoln Tiernan. “We play hard, we play fast and we play together.”

“We’re gonna run. We got two great backs, Jeremy Seidi and Jeremy Dennis. They’re both really strong, really fast, and with the five up front, anything’s possible,” said center Ethan Charnley.

Bishop Hendricken opens its season Saturday at 2 p.m. at Monsignor Farrell.
