WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WPRI) — An investigation is underway after a single-car crash early Thursday morning in Woonsocket.

Police said a 26-year-old man was speeding down Carrington Avenue just after 1:30 a.m. when he hit a utility pole, then a stone wall, a parked car and a second utility pole.

The driver was taken to the hospital with serious, but not life-threatening injuries.

Impairment was not a factor, according to police, but charges are pending against the driver.
