LINCOLN, R.I. (WPRI) — Lincoln is coming off a heartbreaking end to 2023, falling to West Warwick by one point in the Div. III semifinals. The Lions are ready to get back out on the field – moving up to Div. II this season – with several returning players.

“Offense has been coming a lot smoother than previous years, just because we have a lot more experience, same with defense. So we’re really looking forward to hitting the ground running,” said running back Kyle Dussault.

“We’ve got a lot of guys who have worked a lot – real hard – all off season,” said quarterback John Nicoll. “I think we’re going to have a solid year. I think we’re coming together really nicely right now.”

“It’s great time of year for everybody involved with football. We’re working hard. We got miles to go,” said head coach Sean Cavanaugh. “It’s a big year from Lincoln. We’ve moved up to Division II. We take that as a compliment.”

Lincoln opens its season on Friday, Sept. 13 hosting Tolman.
