NORTH PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — North Providence is coming off a Div. IV title last fall and they have now made the move up to Div. III.

Head coach Mike Tuorto and his group will be challenging themselves with better competition. They have great leadership with 22 seniors on the team and are ready to embrace the jump.

“Every single day they come in and all they want to do is improve and get better. That’s a big part of what we’re trying to do is continue to build this program, restore the roar, and do everything the right way,” Tuorto said.

“It’s a new division, a new challenge for us,” said senior Mike Allard. “It can’t be too big for us, so we’re just gonna come at it head first and see what the outcome is.”

The Cougars open their season Thursday hosting Johnston.
