    Why RI had much fewer beach closures this summer

    NARRAGANSETT, R.I. (WPRI) — Throughout the summer, the Rhode Island Department of Health monitors the water quality at beaches to make sure the conditions are safe for swimming.

    New data shows the state this year had significantly fewer closures compared to last summer.
