RAYNHAM, Mass. (WPRI) — A beverage cooler inside a Raynham grocery store caught fire on Monday morning.

Raynham police and firefighters were called to Shaw’s on New State Highway around 11:15 a.m. after the fire alarm went off.

Police were first to arrive, finding smoke and flames coming from a cooler near the self-checkout area. They used a fire extinguisher to knock down most of the fire, officials said.

Fire crews arrived shortly after to fully put out the flames.

The cooler was removed, though the store was filled with smoke. The Middleboro Fire Department provided a large ventilation fan to help clear the building.

The scene was cleared about two hours later. A restoration company worked into the night cleaning the store, which reopened on Tuesday.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
