PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Last month, Rhode Island Energy launched a new website and updated its bill design to improve the user experience.

However, some customers have reached out to 12 Responds saying they have had trouble accessing their online accounts.

BACKGROUND: RI Energy launches new website – what you need to know

The utility provider started to notify customers in June that they would have to create a new online profile, update their password and review their payment information once the new site went live on Aug. 19 .

Now, Rhode Island Energy said it wants to hear directly from customers about their issues so they can be addressed.

“Additionally, we encourage any customer with an online account who has not logged on since the changeover to go in and set up it or call us with questions,” Head of Communications Caroline Pretyman said in a statement to 12 News.

Pretyman also noted that customers who prefer to pay by check can continue to do so, and there will be no late fees for those having issues paying online.

“We are committed to ensuring that future interaction with our website, and overall customer experience with Rhode Island Energy, is a positive one,” Pretyman added.
