    Fall River Amazon warehouse evacuated; 11 workers sent to hospital

    FALL RIVER, Mass. (WPRI) — Employees had to evacuate the Amazon Fulfillment Center in Fall River on Friday following reports of an unknown chemical reaction within the building, according to police.

    Det. Lieutenant Moses Pereira told 12 News the reaction may have been caused by a battery.

    Pereira said 11 employees were taken to the hospital for treatment as a result of the situation.

    The state’s hazmat team is in the building trying to determine the origin of the chemical reaction.
