FALL RIVER, Mass. (WPRI) — A Fall River woman is being charged with vandalism after she spray painted over a store’s sliding glass doors Monday morning, according to police.

Officers were called to SouthCoast Marketplace after receiving reports of a woman spray painting words over the front doors of TJ Maxx.

Upon arrival, police said the officers learned the woman had already driven away. Before leaving, however, the officers learned the woman had also spray painted a vehicle in the parking lot.

The officers later found the 28-year-old woman sitting in her car in the ALDI parking lot across the street with red spray paint on her hands. She spray painted her own vehicle as well, police added.

Police said the officers spoke with the woman and determined she was experiencing a mental crisis. She was taken to a local hospital for evaluation and will be issued a criminal summons for vandalism.
