    Where They Stand: Vimala Phongsavanh on RI Question 1

    EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Aside from the range of elected offices on the ballot in November, Rhode Islanders will also be asked several questions .

    Question 1 on the November ballot will ask if the state should or should not hold a constitutional convention. This question is asked every 10 years.

    Vimala Phongsavanh is the chair for RI Citizens for Responsible Government, a coalition that has launched a campaign against Question 1.

    Ken Block, a local government watchdog who favors the question passing, was also interviewed by 12 News .

    If the unions that run the state and their allies oppose a CC then everyone else should support it.
