CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) — An 83-year-old woman has been cited after she hit two pedestrians crossing the street in Cranston Monday night, according to police.

Cranston Police Col. Michael Winquist confirmed that the woman received a citation for failing to yield to pedestrians in a crosswalk.

Winquist said the Rhode Island Division of Motor Vehicles will also review the woman’s fitness to drive.

The pedestrians were hit while crossing the street at the intersection of Park Avenue and Sunset Terrace. Both were brought to Rhode Island Hospital with serious injuries.

The woman told officers she did not see the pedestrians, according to Winquist.
