PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — The high school football season is heating up with a number of key matchups Friday impacting playoff seeding.

In this week’s edition of the Friday Night Blitz , 12 Sports’ Sam Knox and Mike Uva bring you high school football scores, highlights and more from around Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts, including the Game of the Week: Ponaganset vs. Rogers .

This season, 12 Sports is recognizing players through a new segment called Player of the Week . Voting was open Monday through Wednesday, and fans selected Central Falls/Blackstone Valley Prep/Achievement First’s Jadiel Santiago as Week 6’s winner. Be sure to check back for next week’s nominees.
