A Unity Township woman is accused of financially exploiting her care-dependent neighbor.

Bruna Leonard, 54, is accused of taking the victim’s car and using his bank cards to take money from his accounts.

The victim relied on his neighbors to assist him in going to appointments or the store, the Westmoreland County District Attorney’s Office said.

Leonard was given access to his car to help him buy groceries, but the DA’s office says she did not return it.

When state police asked why she didn’t return it, she said she was “unable to because she was working.”

Leonard denied using the victim’s bank cards, but the DA’s office said transactions totaling over $1,900 were made to a Cash App account associated with her.

She is charged with financial exploitation of a care-dependent person and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

abused of elders go on more than you think. more and more nursing homes are closing, and now their hiring families to care for them. that's not going to work cause families today don't want to.oh, they will come in call in to get paid but not do the work, so either way, our elders are going to be abused. these companies who are hiring family members need to go and check to make sure these people are doing their job.i have a friend who hired her daughter, and her daughter would call in, then leave go to get her hair done go see her boyfriend. she didn't do any work for her mother. her mother was too tired to argue with her.i told her to fire her,why are you allowing her to rip off the company knowing she was not doing the job.sonshe finally called and fired her. back in the days, there were no nursing homes. families took care of their family members who needed care.everyone's pitched in .there was never anyone arguing over who's turn it want families had love for each other.

Walmart told her she wasn't allowed to do anymore returns. her client was in her 80 when she first got hired her client died at 90, she this wicked evil thief who stole from her until she passed away, she torn up the credit card that she use for the double wide trailer she now living in.so her client brother wouldn't find out.he was in his late 80 .how do u live with yourself stealing from the elders who someone trusted you to care for their loved ones.
