West Point Dam to undergo maintenance in the fall

WEST POINT, Ga. ( WRBL ) — Spillway Gates 5 and 6 of the West Point Dam are set to undergo maintenance in the fall of 2024.

The maintenance is scheduled to take place from Oct. 1 to Jan 15, 2025. Regular operations will continue through July and then in August, officials will begin a drawdown to reach 625 feet of lake elevation by Oct. 1.

The lake level should gradually return to normal once maintenance is completed.
