    Music festival ‘Live on the Plains’ brings Tyler Childers of “Lady May” fame to Lee County

    AUBURN-OPELIKA, Ala. (WRBL) — Auburn/Opelika Tourism is excited to announce Live On The Plains , a new annual music festival debuting November 9th, 2024 at Sistrunk Farms in Lee County. The event includes performances by Tyler Childers, Mountain Grass Unit, Braxton Keith, Bayker Blakenship, and Hudson Westbrook.

    “We’re thrilled to bring Live On The Plains to the area,” said Robyn Bridges, President and CEO of Auburn-Opelika Tourism. “This concert series is set to become an exciting new tradition.”

    Childers is a celebrated American singer-songwriter known for his blend of country, bluegrass, and folk music. Childers gained widespread attention with his 2017 album Purgatory , produced by Sturgill Simpson, featuring hits like “Feathered Indians” and “Lady May.”  His follow-up album, Country Squire (2019), debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart.

    The festival will highlight Auburn’s vibrant community, offering music, local cuisine, and family-friendly entertainment. Nathan Baugh of Peachtree Entertainment added, “We are dedicated to providing an unforgettable experience for music lovers of all ages.”
