    One dead during officer-involved shooting, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency investigating

    LEE COUNTY, Ala. ( WRBL ) — The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency has launched an investigation into a shooting that left one dead early Sunday morning.

    According to ALEA, the officer-involved shooting happened at about 3 a.m. in 1800 block of Century Boulevard in Opelika, Ala. Authorities say 26-year-old Tice Daequan Cobb, of Auburn was pronounced dead at the scene. No officers were injured in the shooting.

    ALEA says the incident occurred after an officer from the Opelika Police Department responded to a call regarding a suspicious incident in the 1800 block of Century Boulevard in Opelika, Ala. After arriving on the scene, the officer encountered Cobb, who ALEA says was armed.

    According to ALEA, an altercation between the officer and Cobb occurred, resulting in the officer discharging his weapon and injuring Cobb.

    ALEA says no further details are available at this time as this is still an ongoing investigation. It says once the findings will be turned over to the Lee County District Attorney’s office once the investigation is complete.
