Little Warmer Today, But Hot Temps Ahead!

We’re starting out really nice once again, and even had a few upper 50s this morning to our north around LaGrange, but most of us are in the mid to upper 60s. Today we’ve got lots of sunshine in store and it will be a little warmer as we get into the low 90s. But, the humidity levels stay relatively low, but that’s fixing to change.

Monday and Tuesday, a heat ridge moves into the southeast so we really start to warm up, and we do start to see some humidity come back, but we will remain dry. Afternoon highs will be warming into mid 90s.

By Wednesday and Thursday, the heat will continue to be cranking up as we ramp up close to 100° across the area. The area of high pressure will start move slightly just off to our North and East and that will change our air flow, from the east to a little more out of the southeast, slightly increasing our moisture levels. With dewpoints possibly getting into the low 70s, not only will it be hot, it will feel uncomfortably hotter.

Friday and into the weekend, a frontal boundary gets hung up to our north across the Tennessee Valley and that will have us staying in the hot and humid air with stray showers and storms possible through the Labor Day weekend. Highs will come down slightly into the mid 90s over the weekend, but with the increased moisture, it will still feel pretty hot.

The Tropics continue to be quiet for now with no activity expected over the next 7 days.

Thanks for watching WRBL News 3 and have a great week! Brian
