    City of Auburn announces Labor Day hours for 2024

    AUBURN, Ala. ( WRBL ) — The City of Auburn has announced its hours for Labor Day weekend 2024.

    Most city facilities will be closed on Monday, Sept. 2, with garbage, trash, and recycling collection delayed by one day through the week.

    Auburn Public Library’s book drops will stay open. The online collection of e-books and e-audiobooks as well as digital magazines is always available online .

    Park and Recreation facilities will close on Sept. 2, except for Samford Pool and Yarbrough Tennis Center. The pool will be open from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and the tennis center is open for regular hours.

    On Saturday, Aug. 31, the tennis center closes at 2 p.m. The Samford Pool is closed that day due to the Auburn University home football game.

    City parks, playgrounds, and cemeteries will be open from sunrise to sunset. Public safety services will stay on their regular schedules.

    Downtown parking will be free on Sept. 2, not including Wright Street Parking Deck.
