COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — A warm and humid start to the day with temperatures in the mid to upper 70s. A few areas have dipped to the low 70s, but you can definitely feel that humidity and mugginess in the air as you step outside.

More of the same ‘ole in the forecast for today. Highs climb into the upper 90s with heat index values in the low 100s. Just a stray shower or storm remains in the forecast to provide some relief if you are lucky to be under one today. Rest of the week remains similar as our forecast doesn’t change.

For Labor Day Weekend will see mostly dry conditions as well with temperatures dipping into the mid 90s for highs. High pressure finally gets squeezed out as we head towards Sunday, but still only able to muster up a stray shower or storm.

Next week though, a better chance of rainfall arrives as a front arrives and stalls out across the southeast. Tuesday and Wednesday we are tracking the potential for scattered showers and storms which will likely be our best chance to help overcome these dry conditions creeping back in.
