Man killed in Monday morning shooting, Lanett Police investigating

LANETT, Ala. (WRBL) – The Lanett Police Department is investigating a deadly shooting. A person of interest has been identified in the case but no arrest has been made.

At approximately 1:43 a.m. Eastern Time, officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of 21st Street SW in reference to reports of a male with a gunshot wound. Upon arrival, authorities identified the victim as Terrence Jeffery, a resident of Lanett. Mr. Jeffery had sustained a gunshot wound to the chest. He was immediately transported to East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika for treatment but succumbed to his injuries.

The Lanett Police Department is actively investigating the incident and is urging anyone with information to come forward. Individuals with details related to the case can contact the Lanett Police Department at 334-644-2136 or reach out to Central Alabama Crime Stoppers at 334-215-STOP.
