    Man killed in Monday morning shooting, Lanett Police investigating

    LANETT, Ala. (WRBL) – The Lanett Police Department is investigating a deadly shooting. A person of interest has been identified in the case but no arrest has been made.

    At approximately 1:43 a.m. Eastern Time, officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of 21st Street SW in reference to reports of a male with a gunshot wound. Upon arrival, authorities identified the victim as Terrence Jeffery, a resident of Lanett. Mr. Jeffery had sustained a gunshot wound to the chest. He was immediately transported to East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika for treatment but succumbed to his injuries.
