Columbus Police make arrest in deadly shooting on Holly Avenue

COLUMBUS, Ga. ( WRBL ) — The Columbus Police Department’s investigation into a deadly shooting on Holly Avenue Sunday night has led to an arrest.

Emilio Manrique-Camoran was arrested and charged with murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

According to police, officers responded to a 911 call regarding a shooting in the 4600 block of Holly Avenue. When they arrived officers located a Hispanic male who had been shot.

Police say the victim was pronounced dead at 8:15 p.m. by Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan.

The Violent Crimes Unit was called to the scene to take lead on the investigation and preliminary investigation revealed Manrique-Camoran as the suspect.

Manrique-Camoran is scheduled to appear in Recorder’s Court on Sept. 10.
