    Opelika Police arrest Auburn couple in alleged Dollar Tree robbery

    OPELIKA, Ala. (WRBL)– On Monday, September 9, Opelika Police responded to an alleged robbery at the Dollar Tree located at 501 Second Avenue. Around 9:39 a.m. officers received information a female suspect had allegedly concealed merchandise in her purse and exited the store without paying. An employee followed the suspect outside the store and police say the situation quickly escalated when a male suspect allegedly confronted the employee, threatening to shoot them before both suspects drove off in a blue Chrysler 300.

    Officers in the vicinity were able to locate the vehicle a short time later. Inside were two individuals identified as 22-year-old Syberya Sadie King and 33-year-old Quentavious Montrell Morgan, both residents of Auburn, Alabama.King and Morgan were both taken into custody and charged with Robbery, Third Degree.

    Authorities continue to investigate the case. No injuries were reported, and police have not confirmed if a firearm was recovered.
