Arrest made in connection to social media post showing weapon on Carver High School campus

COLUMBUS, Ga. ( WRBL ) — Muscogee County School District Police have arrested a person in connection to a social media post showing a weapon on the campus of Carver High School.

The Muscogee County School District said school district police identified the person involved.

MCSD says the individual will be charged with possession of a weapon on school grounds and terroristic threats.

“We want to emphasize that all students and staff at Carver High School are safe, and the situation was quickly brought under control thanks to the prompt response of our school police department,” MCSD said in a statement released Tuesday afternoon.

The school district added the safety of students and staff is top priority and it takes all threats of this nature seriously.
