CORDELE, Ga. ( WRBL ) — South Georgia Technical College held two Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) events at their Crisp County Center.

The two events took place Sept. 19 and included a wide variety of activities for attendees.

According to SGTC, Electronic Systems instructor Jeff Shepard led a group of 11th- and 12th-graders through a series of activities. Students built towers from paper and masking tape, made electrical circuits and built lightsabers from popsicle sticks.

In addition to high school students, SGTC Culinary Arts instructor Johnny Davis and his students worked with fifth-graders from Crisp County Elementary to make cookies.

SGTC says the elementary students also took part in STEM activities and learned CPR technique from EMT instructor Chip Walls.

Students in both groups learned more about the programs offered at the Crisp County Center.
