    Alabama State Parks prepared to welcome Hurricane Helene evacuees

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala.  ( WIAT ) — Those impacted by Hurricane Helene can seek shelter at any of the 21 Alabama State Parks, the Alabama State Parks Division announced ahead of its landfall.

    Those who need accommodations are encouraged to make reservations here or call 1-800-Alapark.

    Hurricane Helene forecast to be a Category 4 at landfall on Thursday along the Florida Panhandle

    Visitors can make camping, cabin or lodge reservations at the park that best fits their needs.

    Alabama State Parks follow the National Weather Service . Guests are encouraged to stay connected with the National Weather Service and other news sources in cases of inclement weather.
