    Over 3,000 residents in Columbus without power

    UPDATE: These outages have cleared, according to the Georgia Power map.

    News 3 Reporter Michelle Jennings took a look at Helene’s impact on Georgia Power. You can watch her report above.

    COLUMBUS, Ga. ( WRBL ) — Our local area is seeing some power outages late Thursday afternoon as we continue to prepare for Hurricane Helene.

    The vast majority of the outages are in north Columbus near Northside High School where 2,957 people are without power, according to the Georgia Power Outage Map. The map states “An incident caused an outage in your area. We are working to restore power as quickly as possible.”

    Another outage includes 125 residents near Forrest and Macon Road. Over in Green Island Hills, 30 people are experiencing an outage.
