AUBURN, Ala. (WRBL) – On the afternoon of Wednesday, September 25th, just before closing time, a thief, wearing what appeared to be a Callaway golf hat and a green parka, walked into Moon Golf at 2006 SamGlenn Drive and stole three high-end drivers, valued at more than $2,000.

The theft occurred around 5:30 PM, just a half-hour before the store was set to close for the day. Due to the rainy weather, the store was quieter than usual, and some staff had been sent home early, leaving the remaining employees unable to react in time.

The suspect drove off in a red Ford Escape without license plates.

“We’re hoping the community can help us identify this individual,” Moon Golf said in a statement posted on social media.

Police urge anyone with information to contact the Auburn Police Department at (334) 501-3140, submit a tip by texting the tip line at (334) 246-1391, or email police@auburnalabama.org.
