    2 former Alabama correctional employees arrested on drug charges

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WIAT ) — The Alabama Department of Corrections (ADOC) announced three arrests made in connection to an alleged prison contraband sting.

    According to a news release, ADOC’s narcotics unit and the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office executed search warrants at James and Sophia Chambers’ home. James Chambers was identified as a former employee at Limestone Correctional Facility by ADOC.

    During the search, officials located roughly 1.4 pounds of methamphetamine and 1.5 pounds of marijuana along with five firearms and 10 drones.

    Both suspects were transported to the Cullman County Jail and charged with trafficking methamphetamine and first-degree marijuana possession.

    Upon further investigation, former Limestone correctional officer Becca Marsh was also arrested. She was transported to the Limestone County Jail and charged with use of official position for personal gain. Additionally, ADOC agents confiscated roughly 1.2 pounds of methamphetamine at her residence.

    Additional charges are pending. No further information is available as the investigation continues.
