Muscogee County roller derby team hosts fall bootcamp for new members

COLUMBUS, Ga. ( WRBL ) — The Muscogee Roller Girls roller derby team is on the hunt for new members and it’s hosting a fall bootcamp to find them.

The derby team says it is hosting a recruitment session at The Hangout on Saturday Oct. 12 at 1 p.m. The team says the event will focus on explaining how derby works and will answer any questions about the organization.

The new member boot camp will happen Oct. 13 at the Harris County Community Center in Hamilton, Georgia 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The team says those unable to attend the Saturday recruitment session can still attend the bootcamp.

The team asks those attending the bootcamp to bring some recommended items:

• Water Bottle/ Water
• Athletic Clothing including sneakers
• Mouth Guard
• Any gear/skates you may already own
