    Midday Interview: Columbus Police Department to participate in National Faith & Blue Weekend

    COLUMBUS, Ga. ( WRBL ) — The Columbus Police Department is hosting two events for the community as part of this year’s National Faith & Blue Weekend event.

    Outreach events are scheduled from Oct. 11 to 14.

    On Oct. 11, the department is holding a 5-mile bicycle ride for the community to join. The ride is scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m. after registration.

    On Oct. 12, the department is holding a motorcycle ride to honor Cpl. Deborah Whitley. Registration begins at 8 a.m. The ride is scheduled to start at 9 a.m. and will be followed by a butterfly release.

    Waivers will be required for the bike rides.
