AMERICUS, Ga. ( WRBL ) — Two juveniles are facing charges in connection to a shooting on Tuesday night, according to the Americus Police Department.

A 16-year-old and a 15-year-old have been charged with two counts of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and possession of a firearm by a minor. Additional charges are pending.

These charges stem back to 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 8 when officers were dispatched to Crawford Street and Douglas Drive. Police say an officer saw three juveniles fire shots, then get into a vehicle. He stopped the vehicle and the suspects fled on foot, according to police.

Those suspects were identified and detained.

Later, officers were sent to a home on Oglethorpe Avenue where a person had been shot. The victim was taken by EMS to Phoebe Sumter Medical Center, then taken to a facility in Macon. Police say he is listed in stable condition.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Americus Police Department at (229) 924-3677 or after business hours at (229) 937-9011.
