COLUMBUS, Ga ( WRBL )- Feeling like fall outside this afternoon with those temperatures struggling to get into the 70s. Tonight, expect an even bigger drop in readings.

Wednesday: Many areas will drop into the low-mid 40s, but there could be a few 30s. With a slight breeze tomorrow morning, wind chill values will sit in the mid 30s for everyone by 8AM. Highs will only warm into the lower 60s Wednesday.

Thursday: Thursday is still on track to be the coldest morning this week. Expect lower 40s and 30s, and wind chill temperatures near freezing when you head out the door.

Weekend/ Next Week: Chilly temperatures will continue through Friday, but we will warm up in time for the weekend. Expect plenty of sunshine and temperatures reaching into the mid 70s, lows in the upper 40s. Readings will continue to rise next week thanks to high pressure remaining dominant in the forecast.

Tropics: There are two areas of concern over the next 7 days, both with little impact on our forecast. The first: a system in the central Atlantic that has a 50% chance of organizing over the next 7 days. This system will likely be pushed back out by high pressure over the US. The second: a system in the Caribbean that has a 20% chance of development over the next 7 days. This system poses no threat, as of now, to the US.
