    73-year-old pedestrian struck, killed in Fairfield

    FAIRFIELD, Ala. (WIAT) — A 73-year-old Birmingham man was struck and killed by a vehicle in Fairfield Tuesday night.

    According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, the man, whose identity is not being released until family is notified, was walking along the 6600 block of Aaron Aronov Drive when he was struck by a car. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and called police.

    The victim was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash at 9:15 a.m.

    The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.
