LAGRANGE, Ga. ( WRBL ) — A family survived a structure fire in LaGrange on Wednesday evening.

The LaGrange Fire Department was sent to the structure fire around 8:43 p.m. on Oct. 16 in the 700 block of Swanson Street.

According to the shift commander, the resident and her family were able to get out of the fire before crews arrived.

An investigation was conducted as crews quickly brought the fire under control. The shift commander says the resident was preparing to cook when a grease fire broke out.
