One injured in shooting at Rigdon Park in Columbus following argument

Authorities say one person was injured in a shooting Saturday at Rigdon Park in Columbus.

The Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office and the Columbus Police Department responded to shots fired at Rigdon Park. Muscogee County Sheriff Greg Countryman says a dispute from one area ended up at the park, leaving one person shot.

That victim was transported to the hospital. Their condition is unknown at this time.

Countryman confirmed the alleged shooter was taken into custody by the sheriff’s office. Another person was also arrested for striking an EMS worker.

The sheriff’s office Special Operations Bureau is leading the investigation.
