MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man is now charged in a deadly shooting that led to a fiery crash earlier this month in Parkway Village.

Isiah Jones, 22, is charged with first-degree murder.

On August 5, officers say they responded to the Extended Stay on American Way around 3 a.m. after someone said they heard more than a dozen gunshots.

While searching the area, police say they found a wrecked Tahoe on fire about a mile and a half away. Police say a male victim was found inside, dead from his injuries.

The victim has been identified as 31-year-old James Presgrove.

According to reports, it started when Presgrove pulled up to the Extended Stay and parked his Tahoe in the back parking lot.

That is when Jones allegedly blocked Presgrove in, got out of a car, pointed two guns at the victim, and fired multiple shots.

Presgrove reportedly put the Tahoe in reverse and drove away before he crashed and his vehicle caught on fire.

Shortly after the crash, police say video surveillance captured Jones walking westbound on American Way and getting into the front passenger seat of a white sedan.

Investigators say after further investigation, Jones was identified as the suspect.

Isiah Jones is now scheduled to appear in court on Thursday morning.
