TATE COUNTY, Miss. — Two juveniles are charged with making threats to a school in Tate County, Mississippi, and it isn’t the only threat this week.

Kayla Moore, who has a nephew attending Independence High School, says the school was evacuated Friday because of a bomb threat.

“I am extremely concerned that we can’t even allow our children to go to school because we don’t know if they’re in danger or not,” Moore said.

Tate County Sheriff Luke Shepherd says Friday morning, Tate County got assistance from Desoto County, which sent its bomb-sniffing K-9 to the school. No bomb was found.

“We’re taking it seriously and we are investigating. We’re partnering with Mississippi Department of Homeland Security, the ATF and the FBI,” said Shepherd.

Moore is mad that Tate County Schools didn’t notify parents or guardians Friday morning.

“It was other children that were calling and telling us, ‘Hey there’s a bomb threat at school, don’t go to school,'” she said.

This is the second bomb threat this week at Independence High School.

The Tate County Sheriff confirmed two juveniles have been charged with making a bomb threat on Wednesday. A male at Strayhorn High School and a female from Independence High School were taken into custody, but it’s unclear if they are tied to Friday morning’s incident.

“We believe there is no active threat and we will continue to monitor the situation at all the schools across the county,” Shepherd said.

He says these kind of threats are never considered just a prank.

“It’s a huge disruption not only to the education system, but it’s a drain on our local resources here in law enforcement to go respond to that,” he said.

The school district has not responded to a request for comment.

The sheriff urges anyone with information to call 662-560-5692.

Sad That someone's kids are doing this just because they don't want to go to school, when they catch who did this they should charge them as adults and hold the parents responsible also,it's the only way to teach them right from wrong maybe they will still have a chance to do good with their lives
