    Oxford teen killed in car accident on MS road

    MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a motor vehicle accident that caused the death of an Oxford teenager.

    On Sunday at approximately 11:39 a.m., the Lafayette County 911 Dispatch received a call reporting a vehicle upside down in a pond on private property.

    Units from the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office, Lafayette County Fire Department, Oxford Fire Department and Baptist Ambulance Service were dispatched to the scene.

    Man dead following car crash on Walnut Grove Road

    When first responders arrived, they determined that the accident had potentially occurred overnight.

    They were able to recover the vehicle from the pond and the driver, identified as 19-year-old Gray Cassidy, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

    The cause of the accident is currently under investigation by the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office.
