All 18 greens to be replaced at TPC Southwind ahead of next year’s FESJC

MEMPHIS – Now that this year’s FedEx St. Jude Championship is in the books, major changes are coming to the FESJC in the form of a total rebuild of the greens at TPC Southwind.

Starting November first, the greens will be replaced on the front nine and all 18 greens will be closed from January until next year’s FedEx St. Jude Championship rolls around in the first week of August.

The world’s best golfers have always raved about the greens during tournament week but they are greens that haven’t been replaced since 1988.

“Obviously tough to shut down the course for a whole year and lose access to it. But it shows that the tournament’s a priority of the PGA Tour and the TPC crew. To make that sort of investment into replacing and restoring all 18 greens,” said FESJC Tournament Director Joe Tomek. “That means next year, when we come back to the 2025 championship, it’ll be the first time anyone will play on all 18 brand new greens. Really getting it back to where it was originally intended to be. Just a refresh to make sure it’s in tip top shape.”
