    Burglars steal $4K worth from Midtown Advance Auto Parts

    MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Over $4,000 in merchandise was stolen from an Advance Auto Parts in Midtown after a break-in early Tuesday morning, according to the Memphis Police Department.

    At 3:50 a.m., officers say they responded to Advance Auto Parts at 213 Cleveland Street regarding a burglary.

    Officers say the front door was open and broken glass from the front door of the business was visible when they arrived. At that time, the building was empty and the suspects had gotten away.

    Video footage inside the store showed two men breaking into the business and taking items before leaving.

    Police say the suspects got away with an empty cash register box, 12 car batteries, a box with 25 air filters, 2 lamps, 9 containers of Castrol Oil, and assorted tools from the business. The items were all worth $4,205.

    The suspects were last seen driving westbound toward Burger King in a black sedan.

    The first suspect is described as a man wearing a dark shirt, gray colored pants, and a black mask, police say. The second suspect is described as wearing a black shirt with red writing, black shorts, white shoes, and a white mask.
