MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Memphis man was convicted on child pornography charges in DeSoto County, Mississippi, according to the District Attorney’s office.

Antonio Alston, Jr., 21, was found guilty Monday, Desoto County District Attorney Matthew Barton said.

The prosecution presented evidence proving that Alston was in possession of four files containing sexually explicit images of minors, some as young as seven years old, according to a press release.

The images had been sold by Alston on Reddit and through Cashapp.

According to reports, the investigation began in 2023 when the Hernando Police Department received cyber tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. A total of 67 cyber tips were found to have been connected to an IP address associated with Alston.

“Pedophilia and the individuals who commit such heinous acts are intolerable, and my office is
committed to prosecuting these crimes to the fullest extent of the law,” said District Attorney
    Matthew Barton.

The D.A.’s office says Alston had previously been investigated by the Memphis Police Department for similar offenses but was not prosecuted or arrested.

Alston is scheduled for sentencing on Tuesday.
